Reading Clinic Cyber Academy Now Open

The Reading Clinic, Inc. is excited to expand and launch a flexible Academic Recovery Plan through The Reading Clinic Cyber Academy to support K -12 students, specifically students with learning differences and learning disabilities who have been disproportionately impacted during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

Scholarship to Support Students in Higher Education

The Reading Clinic, Inc. has established a scholarship to support students at Delaware State University with learning disabilities.
The purpose of this fund is to create a charitable gift account within the Delaware State University Foundation to support scholarships for Delaware State University students with Dyslexia, the most common learning disability that affects 1 in 5 people. The scholarship is also open to applicants with other learning disa-bilities that include but are not limited to Dysgraphia: Impairment in Written Expression, Dyscalculia: Impairment in Mathematics, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT), Central Processing Disorder, etc.
Meet the Author: Dr. Dyslexia Dude!

Dr. Dyslexia Dude is a compelling story of an African-American boy who is a powerful superhero with dyslexia. Exciting and humorous, this tale is a source of hope and inspiration for youth, parents and teachers. The engaging session will include a motivational talk from Dr. Shawn Robinson, the author of Dr. Dyslexia Dude, highlights from his book and a Q & A session. Each youth participant will receive an autographed copy of Dr. Dyslexia Dude and an opportunity to take photos. Parent resources will be available. Light refreshments will be served. Dr. Shawn Robinson, Senior Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison did not learn how to read until he was 18 years old. Dyslexia is the most common learning disability affecting 1 in 5. Ninety percent of children in special education are referred as a result of reading deficits. Truancy, dropout rates, crime and substance abuse increase with learning disabilities. Over 50 % of those incarcerated are more likely to be Dyslexic.
